FAQs

Here is the answers to some questions.

  • What kind of winter experiences do you offer?

We currently offer a variety of guided winter experiences in the Rovaniemi area, including Aurora Hunting, snowshoeing, sledding, and husky sled rides. Each activity is designed to reflect how locals enjoy the snowy season — from quiet forest trails to chasing northern lights across Arctic skies.

  • Where are you located and how do I get there?

We operate in the Arctic Circle region, with Rovaniemi — the largest city in Finnish Lapland — as our hometown. Our tours take place in various locations across this area, chosen for their natural beauty and authentic local character.

  • When does your winter season start and end?

Our season begins in mid-September, when the nights grow dark enough to see the northern lights. It continues through to mid-April, offering a full range of winter experiences throughout the snowy months.

  • Are your safaris suitable for beginners and families?

Yes, we’ve designed most safaris to be safe and enjoyable for first-timers. No previous experience needed.

  • What should I wear for your activities?

Some safaris include warm winter suits at no extra cost. All activities require appropriate winter clothing, and specific requirements are listed under each experience.

  • Do I need any previous experience to join a safari?

First time in the Arctic? No problem — our tours are beginner-friendly and fully guided.

  • How cold does it get in Lapland — and how do we stay warm?

In our region, temperatures can drop to –35 °C or even lower. Typical mid-winter conditions range between –5 °C and –20 °C.

To stay warm during activities, we rely on proper winter clothing, campfires, fireplaces, and heated huts. Our vans are fully equipped for Arctic conditions to ensure safe and comfortable transport.

  • Will we see northern lights during the tour?

Auroras are natural phenomena, so sightings can never be guaranteed — but we do everything we can to maximize your chances. We use pre-selected viewing spots and follow both aurora and weather forecasts, including cloud cover, to choose the best possible location each night.

  • How big are the groups on your experiences?

Our maximum group size is 8 people. This keeps the experience personal, peaceful, and close to nature — just the way we locals like it. Small groups allow for quiet moments, flexible pacing, and a more authentic connection to Lapland’s winter landscapes.

  • What kind of safety measures do you have?

Safety is a top priority for us. Our team is trained regularly, and all guides are equipped with first aid kits. During every safari, we follow official safety guidelines as well as all local laws and regulations for moving in nature and on designated routes.

  • Do you provide pick-up and transportation?

Yes, we do offer pick-up service. Common pick-up locations include hotels in the city center, accommodations near the Arctic Circle Village, and our cozy little red info kiosk in downtown Rovaniemi.

  • What’s included in the price?

You’ll find a short description of that under each activity in our webshop.

  • Are your guides local?

Our company is locally owned and operated — and the owner personally guides many of the safaris. This hands-on approach ensures every experience reflects real Lapland life, with warmth, knowledge, and authenticity.

  • How can I book and what is your cancellation policy?

It’s possible to cancel your adventure. The specific terms and conditions are listed on each product page in our webshop.

  • Do your guides speak English (or other languages)?

Yes, we speak English. Selected safaris are also available with Italian and French-speaking guides.

  • Is the tour cancelled if the weather is bad?

Due to safety regulations, we may need to cancel a safari if weather conditions make it unsafe to enter nature. This applies especially to aurora safaris, where visibility depends on both the aurora forecast and cloud cover. If there’s no realistic chance of seeing the northern lights, we may cancel the tour or offer an alternative activity, such as snowshoeing.

  • How do you take care of nature and operate sustainably?

Yes, we do. As a local company, we deeply respect the nature around us. We follow clear guidelines and a dedicated policy for operating responsibly in the wilderness.

  • Can children participate in your experiences?

Children are warmly welcome on our safaris. However, some adventures may have age or physical requirements and are reserved for adults only. Specific details are listed under each activity.
